Dear parents and guardians:
California requires all students to pass the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) as part of the requirement to receive a California high school diploma. The first opportunity to take the CAHSEE is in the spring of the 10th grade year. If a student does not pass any section of the CASHEE they will have other opportunities during their 11th and 12th grade years.
Below are the CAHSEE testing dates for the 2014-2015 school year. Students will be notified before each CAHSEE administration of exactly what portion of the exam he/she needs to take. You can expect the results to be mailed to the home address we have listed approximately 7 weeks after the test administration.
How you can help prepare your child for the CAHSEE
- Ensure they get sufficient sleep the night before and a good breakfast the morning of the exam.
- If your 11th or 12th grade student has not passed one or more sections of the CAHSEE, work with his/her counselor to enroll them in one of our CAHSEE Intervention classes.
- Go to the California Department of Education website to review released test questions from past CAHSEE exams. http://www.cde.ca.gov/ta/tg/hs/resources.asp
